General Membership Questions

Is there an annual membership fee?

Yes, there are annual dues for every category of membership. Please see benefits and dues associated with each type of membership.

When does my membership expire? Is my membership renewal due on the anniversary of my join date?

BDF memberships are active for twelve (12) months. For example, if your membership start date is January 1, 2023, then your membership is active through December 31, 2023. Your renewal payment is due by the last day of your current membership to enjoy continuous access to benefits.

Is my organization a member?

Individuals are the only members who receive benefits in BDF.

Is there a member directory?

Contact the BDF Executive Director for a copy of the member directory.

EXPERIENCED Professional Membership

Experienced professionals are developers with at least 20 years' experience or business owners with at least 10 years in development.

Experienced professional Membership - $500

mid-career professional Membership

This membership is ideal for mid-career professionals with 5–20 years in real estate development or less than 10 years running their own development business.

mid-career professional Membership - $250

EMERGING DEVELOPER Membership

Emerging developers are either recent graduates or individuals who have worked in real estate development for fewer than 5 years.

EMERGING DEVELOPER Membership - $100

PARTNER Membership

Small businesses such as Banks, architects, contractors, government agencies, and foundations that provide products or services to BDF members are considered professionals involved in development. If you are a Friend of BDF Level Sponsor contributing at least $1000, your membership fee may be waived.

PARTNER membership - $200

Student Membership

Student members are required to be enrolled in an academic or certificate program. To maintain status an active member, students are asked to volunteer at 2 events annually.
